
ALMOST 300 AMATEUR and professional photographers submitted 1,659 images of Ireland’s national moments to this year’s Wiki Loves Monuments competition.
Just ten images were announced as the winners.
The Wikipedia competition took place between 23 August and 30 September and “aims to raise awareness of Ireland’s national monuments and create a crowd-sourced bank of quality photos that will be free to use for education”.
The winning images will be on display during the awards ceremony taking place on 9 November, beginning at 6:30 pm, at the Stag’s Head Pub in Dublin.
The winners are, in order of judging, were:
