Irish man charged with Philadelphia hit-and-run

US police say the man was pulled off a flight leaving the country and charged with a hit-and-run crash just outside Philadelphia.

AN IRISH MAN has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Philadelphia, US.

According to ABC news, 28-year-old Damian Crossan was tracked down a pulled off a flight at New York’s John F Kennedy Airport.  Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood released a statement to say that Crossan had admitted to hitting the victim, a 32-year-old woman, on 2 Februrary.

Chitwood said that investigators received a tip that Crossan was responsible, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Authorities say that Crossan’s vehicle was in the long-term parking area at JFK and had damage consistent with the crash.

The injured woman has been described as being in a serious condition in hospital, with injuries to her head, brain and hips.
