IRISH RAIL HAVE found the “wonderful boy” they were looking for after a passenger’s message about him went viral.
It all began earlier this week, when Twitter user @Tweecher sat near the young man and overheard him chatting to an older couple.
Tweecher sent a message about him to Irish Rail, who retweeted it.
Irish Rail told DailyEdge.ie that they were trying to find the boy in question – they wanted to pass on the message and to give him a Trekker ticket for being such a nice young lad.
Now comes the good news that he has been found.
He’s actually a 19-year-old named Thomas Conway from Ballina in Co Tipperary.
In a message to Irish Rail, he said he was “thrilled” that his conversation with the elderly couple was made public.
“I don’t want to heap praise on myself or anything, because I think this little event was a sign of the times,” wrote Conway.
Respect for our elders, and indeed everyone around us, has always been a fundamental value of humans and I believe it’s growing among young people.
Read his full message here. Nice one, Thomas Conway.
