The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance.

A WOMAN FROM Co Wexford has died in the Dominican Republic.

It’s understood the woman, aged in her 40s, had been in the Caribbean country while attending a wedding.

It’s believed she was struck by a car during the trip.

A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it’s aware of the case and is providing consular assistance.

“The Department does not comment on the details of individual cases,” the spokesperson said.
