Did you know him? Search for relatives to attend funeral of elderly man

John McMullen had not been in touch with family members in the years before his death.

A KILDARE NURSING home is looking to find relatives of a man who passed away over the weekend.

John McMullen (87) died at Connolly Hospital in Dublin on Saturday.

He had been a resident of Moyglare Nursing Home in Maynooth.

In an appeal earlier this week, Kildare Crime Alerts and Prevention said the only known information about his life is that he was born on 25 September, 1928; had links with Coleraine, Derry; and was previously a sailor.

“Moyglare Nursing Home and Reilly’s Funeral Directors are seeking the public’s assistance” in contacting his next-of-kin, the community service said.

John’s funeral is to take place on Tuesday, 16 February, at 10am in St Mary’s Church in Maynooth, followed by burial in Laraghbryan Cemetery.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Moyglare Nursing Home at 01 628 9022 or Reilly’s Funeral Directors on 045 868 230.
