Kamala Harris is releasing a book about her sudden and short campaign for the White House

It’s due to be released in September.

FORMER US VICE President Kamala Harris has announced that she’s releasing a book about her experience of running a last-minute campaign for the White House against Donald Trump last year.

The memoir is titled 107 Days – the length of time between launching her campaign after former President Joe Biden withdrew from the race and the election itself.

In a country where presidential hopefuls generally start campaigning at least one year, if not two, before an election, her 15 week sprint was highly unusual.

Her memoir is being published by Simon & Schuster and is due to be released on 23 September.

In a video today on social media, Harris said: “Just over a year ago, I launched my campaign for president of the United States, 107 days — traveling the country, fighting for our future — the shortest presidential campaign in modern history.”

She said that she wrote the book with “candor and reflection” and promised a “behind-the-scenes account” of the campaign.

Speculation has circulated in US media over whether Harris may run again for the Democratic nomination in 2028, which will be further fuelled by Harris remarking in today’s video that “sometimes, the fight takes a while”.

Harris is due to appear tonight as a guest on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, one of her few media engagements since losing the election last November.
