KIAN EGAN HAS spoken out on former bandmate Brian McFadden’s absence from the Westlife An Post stamp collection that was announced today.

The limited edition stamp issue, which includes booklets, stamp sheets and souvenir envelopes, was created to celebrate twenty-five years since Westlife’s formation as a group.

Former band member Brian McFadden, who left the group in March 2004 to pursue a solo career, was not included in this celebratory collection despite being a member of Westlife during the height of the band’s success.

Speaking to Colm Ó Mongáin on RTE Radio 1′s Liveline, current member Kian Egan said that it’s “just the way it is now” when asked about McFadden’s absence from the anniversary stamps.

“He’s off doing his thing now, and we’re off doing ours,” Egan said.

Egan added that there is no bad blood between the band and their former member and the group has fond memories of McFadden’s time with them.

“Brian was a huge part of Westlifefor the first five or six years and we just continued on. We’ve very fond memories of Brian being in the group, and all the things that he’s done with us,” he said

“Everything is positive. It’s all love. There’s no negativity between any of us. We see him every now and again, and we chat to him and we reminisce over old times” the Westlife member continued.

The Westlife An Post stamp issue is available in post offices across Ireland from today, 11th September.
