Man, 80, killed in Kilkenny collision

Gardaí in Callan are investigating a collision between a car and an SUV in which the sole occupant of the car, aged 80, was killed.

GARDAI IN CALLAN in Co Kilkenny are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision in which an 80-year-old man was killed.

The accident – involving a car and an SUV – occurred at around 1:30pm at Minnauns, Callan, Co Kilkenny.

The 80-year-old man, who was the sole occupant of the car, was fatally injured.

The road remains closed to facilitate a forensic investigation.
