Man arrested in Drogheda shooting investigation

Gardaí investigating last night’s shooting have arrested a man in his 20s.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING A shooting in Drogheda last night have arrested a man.

The incident occurred around 9.30pm on Donore Road last night when a man was shot in the leg.

Gardaí arrested a 26 year old man this morning in the Drogheda area in connection with the incident.

The 30-year-old was shot in the leg, but managed to raise the alarm after he made his way to a nearby shop. He was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he is described as being in a stable condition.

The man arrested is currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Drogheda Garda Station.
