Man arrested over Post Office robbery

Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s in connection with the armed robbery.

GARDAÍ IN CRUMLIN have arrested a man in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a Post Office last Friday.

The man, who is in his 20s, was arrested earlier today and is being detained at Terenure Garda Station.

The incident occurred at the Bunting Road Post Office in Dublin 12 on Friday, 13 July. At about 9.15am, two men – armed with a shot gun and hammer – entered the premises, threatened staff and fired one shot.

They left the scene without stealing any money or items.

A female employee was injured when shrapnel from a shattered pane of glass entered her eye.

Gardaí have asked any witnesses, or anyone with information, to contact them at Crumlin Garda Station.
