Man attacked by masked men armed with hammer and sticks

The 22-year-old man was seriously assaulted in Ballybeen, Belfast. The PSNI is appealing for information following the attack.

A MAN WAS attacked by masked men in Belfast who were wielding a hammer and wooden sticks, the PSNI said today.

Detectives in Castlereagh are appealing for information following the serious assault on the victim, which occurred in the Morven Park area of Ballybeen on Monday 23 April.

The PSNI said that at around 10.40pm on that date a 22-year-old man was attacked by up to four masked men, armed with a hammer and wooden sticks, at flats in the area.

The man was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries which are not thought to be life threatening at this time.

Anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information about this incident is asked to contact CID in Castlereagh on 0845 600 8000.
