A 38-YEAR-OLD MAN has been remanded in custody following the seizure of a Glock semi-automatic handgun and ammunition in south Dublin.

Penggu Song, with an address at Spa Road, Dublin 8, was charged with unlawful possession of the weapon and 12 rounds following his arrest at Tyrconnell Road, Dublin 8, on 9 June.

He was brought to Kevin Street garda station, making no reply when charged.

Song was held in custody overnight and then appeared before Judge Mark O’Connell, at Dublin District Court today.

Detective Garda William Wright gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution.

The accused, who did not address the court, has not indicated a plea.

Defence solicitor Donald Quigley said there was no bail application, and his client consented to being remanded in custody to appear again on 18 June at Cloverhill District Court.

Legal aid was granted after the judge noted Song was unemployed.
