Man (30s) dies following tractor crash in Co Cavan

The collision occurred on a local road in Carrickaboy yesterday afternoon.

A MAN IN his 30s has died following a road traffic collision in Co Cavan yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred on a local road at Ardkill Beg, Carrickaboy, shortly before 12.40pm, when gardaí and emergency services responded to a collision involving a tractor.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has since been removed to Cavan Monaghan General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place.

A technical examination of the scene has been carried out by garda forensic collision investigators.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Road users who were in the area between 9am and 12.40pm, or anyone with information, is asked to contact gardaí at Cavan Garda Station on (049) 436 8800, or any garda station.

“Investigations are ongoing,” a garda spokesperson said.
