Man in his 30s seriously injured in early-morning assault in Naas

A man was arrested in connection with the incident, but has since been released by gardaí.

A MAN HAS been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an assault in Naas, Co Kildare, in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the incident on Naas’ North Main Street shortly after 2.45am.

The injured man, aged in his 30s, was brought to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

A man in his 20s was arrested for public order offences in connection with the incident, but has since been released.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who were in the North Main Street area between 2.20am and 3am to come forward.

They are particularly asking road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, to make it available to investigators.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station,” a garda spokesperson said.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
