TWO OTHER DUBLIN councils have announced proposals for modular housing sites.
Fingal County Council has brought forward two proposals for the construction of modular homes at two locations. These include 40 units at Pinewood Green Court in Balbriggan and 20 units at Wellview Green in Mulhuddart.
A report on the locations will go on public display from 6 January.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has also identified two sites for modular homes. They are at Georges Place, Dún Laoghaire and part of the former Premier Dairies site at Whitebarn in Nutgrove.
There is a proposal for 50 homes between the two sites.
The construction of modular homes in Ballymun were delayed last week. Dublin City Council said this was due to protests and threats against security staff, though the construction company denied this happened. As a result of delays, the council was unable to move 22 families into the homes before Christmas as planned.
