THE MOTHER OF three-year-old Mikaeel Kular has appeared in court charged with his murder.
Rosdeep Kular, 33, was charged under her married name Adekoya at a brief hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
Prosecutors said that Kular made no plea or declaration during the sitting before Sheriff Frank Crowe just after 4pm today.
She was charged with both murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
Mikaeel was reported missing from his home in Ferry Gait Crescent last Thursday, having last been reported seen the previous night.
More than 200 volunteers and police joined the search for the boy.
His body was later found in an area of woodland behind a house in Kirkcaldy, Fife. It is believed Kular and her five children used to live in the house.
