A MAN IN his 50s has died after a single-vehicle collision in Killick, Kilcock, Co Kildare this morning.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision, which involved a motorcycle and occurred at around 10.45am.
The male motorcyclist was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been brought to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The coroner has been notified.
The road was closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
In a statement they said: “Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in Killick, Kilcock, Co. Kildare this morning between 10:30am and 11:00am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.”
