Two arrests after gardaí seize over €800k in cash in Naas

The men were arrested after a planned operation by the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.

GARDAÍ SEIZED WELL over €800,000 in cash following a number of searches in Kildare at the weekend.

The Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau carried out a planned operation in Naas on Saturday.

During the search, they seized a sum of €829,265 in cash.

Two men – one in his 30s, and the other in his 40s – were arrested and detained at Naas Garda Station under the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010.

They have since been released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A number of follow-up searches took place in Sligo, Lucan and Kildare during which a car worth €50,000 was also seized by gardaí.
