Dublin Airport workers withdraw strike action for Monday
SIPTU has agreed to attend the Labour Relations Commission after talks today.
SIPTU HAS WITHDRAWN its planned industrial action for this coming Monday following talks with the strike action committees of Aer Lingus and DAA.
The union, representing thousands of workers at Dublin Airport, have “reluctantly” agreed to attend the Labour Relations Commission (LRC) with both Aer Lingus and DAA.
A High Court hearing had been planned for tomorrow as DAA attempted to secure an injunction preventing the industrial action.
The dispute centres on the funding of the Irish Aviation Pensions Scheme which has a deficit of €700 million.
SIPTU has said it will enter talks following the last-minute intervention by the LRC. However, they have described it as a final attempt to resolve the issues surrounding the pensions scheme.
