Number of homes evacuated after arson attack in Dublin last night

There were no reports of injuries.

A NUMBER OF homes in Cherry Orchard were evacuated overnight after an arson attack.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of an incident of criminal damage by fire at a home in Cherry Orchard, Ballyfermot at around 1.40am.

The occupants of a number of houses had to be evacuated, though there were no reports of injuries.

The local fire service extinguished the fire and the scene was preserved for a technical examination which has since been completed.

Investigations are ongoing and gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
