Poll: Do you volunteer your time?

Let us know more in the comments section too after taking part in today’s poll.

IN OUR COLUMN this morning, ex-army man Tony Kane writes about his experience as a volunteer.

He says he gives up his time, not because there is a ‘feelgood factor’ but because it is “the right thing to do”.

In recent years, as the economy has taken a turn for the worse, there has been a surge in the number of people willing to give up their time to help those in need. Currently, there are about 15,000 community and charity organisations in the country relying on volunteers.

So in today’s poll, we’re asking: Do you volunteer your time?

Poll Results:

Yes, but only occasionally (701)
No (622)
Yes, every week (421)

Column: I don’t help people for a ‘feelgood factor’ – it’s just what’s right
