Poll: Would you watch an Oireachtas TV-style channel for the EU Parliament?

MEPs Mick Wallace and Clare Daly say it would help Irish people better understand what happens in Europe.

MEPS MICK WALLACE and Clare Daly have called for the establishment of a new public service broadcast channel for European Parliament proceedings, arguing that Irish citizens do not understand what happens in the EU.

The Independent 4 Change MEPs outlined yesterday how the content for a parliamentary TV channel is already produced by an in-house service financed by the European Parliament’s budget.

All proceedings are already filmed, broadcast live and on-demand online. Wallace and Daly are calling for an Irish public service broadcaster to make use of the content and ensure it reaches the Irish public.

This morning we’re asking: Would you watch an Oireachtas TV-style channel for the EU Parliament?

Poll Results:

No (3374)
I'd watch debates or big speeches on issues that interest me (1381)
Yes, I'd tune in regularly  (595)
No interest, no opinion  (311)
