PSNI launch murder investigation in Derry

A 51-year-old man has died after being stabbed in Derry yesterday afternoon.

POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland have launched a murder investigation following a fatal stabbing in Derry yesterday.

The 51-year-old male victim was attacked in the Francis Street area of the city at about 1.30pm on Tuesday.

The man was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.

A 34-year-old woman is in custody and helping the PSNI with its enquiries.
