EARLIER THIS WEEK, Google revealed the things people spent the most time searching throughout 2025.
Many of the searches were led by the news cycle, elections across the world, and online trends.
Google has caveated that its top searches are closer to trending searches – it says that many of the true top searches stay the same every year (think “weather forecast” or “news”), so it measures instead where there has been a spike in public interest to determine what was truly most talked and searched for this year.
