Woman dies after car collides with lorry in Cork

The incident happened just outside Rosscarbery in County Cork this morning.

A WOMAN HAS died after her car hit a lorry in Cork earlier today.

The woman was driving on the Clonakilty to Rosscarbery Road and was around a mile outside Rosscarbery when her car collided with a truck at around 10.20am this morning.

The 65-year-old was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the lorry was not injured in the crash.

The road is currently closed and gardaí are carrying out a forensic examination of the scene. Diversions are in place.

An appeal for witnesses has been issued with anyone who may have information asked to contact Clonakilty Garda Station on 023 88 21570, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
