Quiz: How much do you know about protecting yourself from fraud?

Scams are everywhere these days, so we need to be vigilant.

SCAMS HAVE BECOME the scourge of modern life, with barely a week going by without receiving a text, email, phone call or online ad that seems in some way fraudulent.

Many of us, especially those of us more accustomed to living our lives online, might think that we can see right through these scams.

Unfortunately, scammers are getting smarter all the time, and thanks to technological advances, their scams are becoming more convincing. It takes active effort to identify scams, which is why the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has set up Scam University — to educate the public on how they can avoid the pitfalls of scams.

Today, we want to find out how much you know about scams and whether you know how to keep yourself safe from fraudulent behaviour. After you’ve taken the quiz, remember to visit CCPC Scam University online and explore information and resources relating to keeping yourself — and your loved ones — safe from scams and fraud.
