SCOTLAND HAS WELCOMED its first same-sex weddings, after new laws were introduced earlier this year.
The passing of the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Scotland) Bill in February paved the way for the ceremonies, which saw couples tie the knot across the country.
Among them were Malcolm Brown and Joe Schofield, who married in Glasgow. Their readjusted marriage schedule (above) demonstrated that the paperwork hasn’t yet come up to date with the change in the law.

The bill was passed by 105 votes to 18, after Ministers were allowed a free vote on the issue.

The decision meant that Scotland joined England and Wales in providing equal access to marriage for lesbian and gay couples.
Here in Ireland, a referendum on the issue of civil marriage for same-sex couples will be held in May of next year.
