Man to appear in court over serious assault of elderly man

A 73-year-old man was hospitalised yesterday following an assault in Donegal.

A MAN WHO was arrested yesterday following a serious assault of a 73-year-old man in Donegal is to appear before a special sitting of Buncrana District Court today, charged in connection with the incident.

The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested and detained following a serious assault in a house on Convent Road, Carndonagh on Friday. As a result of the assault, an elderly man was taken by ambulance to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry where his condition has been described as serious.
