Ten civilians killed after playground and minibus are shelled in Ukraine
Several more people were injured.
TEN PEOPLE ARE reported to have been killed by shelling in the rebel-held east Ukrainian city of Donetsk.
Regional authorities have released a statement saying that four people died when a shell hit a school playground located near Donetsk airport.
A further eight people were injured in the attack, which occurred at around 10am.
Six more people died when a minibus was hit in a separate incident.
The pro-Kiev Donetsk regional government have laid the blame on pro-Russian rebels.
Witnesses told Reuters that no children were hurt when the school was shelled, but said that a biology teacher and a parent were among the dead.
Ceasefire
A fragile ceasefire has been in place in eastern Ukraine since 5 September.
The BBC is reporting that pupils had only returned to school on Wednesday after the start of the school year was postponed by weeks due to the fighting.
Over 200 people, including 70 children, were said to be at school number 57 in the Kievsky district when the playground was hit.
