Car of passing motorist struck by bullets in Wicklow shooting

No one was injured in the incident.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a shooting incident on a street in Wicklow this morning.

A garda spokesperson said shots were fired during an incident involving a number of males on Farrankelly Road near Greystones at around 11am this morning. Two shots struck the car of a passing motorist.

The driver and passenger in the car escaped unharmed and no one else was injured in the incident. Those involved in the shootout fled the scene before gardaí arrived.

A forensic and technical examination is being carried out on the car that was struck by bullets. Gardaí in Bray are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have information to contact them.
