Queen Elizabeth’s itinerary is rich with historical significance – with stops including the National War Memorial Garden and Croke Park. We look at the past events associated with some of her stops.

AS WE ALL KNOW, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth is spending the next four days taking in the sights and sounds of Ireland.

Writing in TheJournal.ie earlier this week, Eleanor Fitzsimons spoke of Ireland’s ”uniquely complex relationship” with Britain and asked the question: What have the Brits ever done for us?

In that same spirit, we’ve taken a look at the Queen’s itinerary for today and the next three days to explore the historical significance of some of the destinations, and get a better understanding of Ireland’s relationship with its closest neighbour.

Celebration of Queen’s visit at the Convention Centre Dublin
