Some great 'Dealz' coming to Ireland as chain to create 180 new jobs
Poundland will open six new stories in Ireland by next year.
THE UK DISCOUNT retailer Poundland has announced it will open six stores in Ireland by next year creating 180 new jobs with the potential for 50 stores in this country in the coming years.
However, the stores will not carry the Poundland name and instead will be known as ‘Dealz’ with its fixed-price format to be “adapted” for its European outlets giving the retailer flexibility to vary its prices, according to RTÉ.
The company says it will stock Irish, locally sourced milk, eggs and crisps as well as selling well-known brands and own label products. It has 347 stores in the UK. The first four Irish stores are expected to open in October with two more to follow by next March in suburbs in Dublin and Cork.
