Two released after fatal stabbing in Dublin

A 56-year-old man originally from the UK died after receiving serious stab wounds at a flat in Ballybough.

TWO MEN ARRESTED in connection with the fatal stabbing of another man in Ballybough, Dublin, yesterday evening have been released.

At 5.10pm yesterday, a 56-year-old man, originally from the UK, received serious stab wounds at a flat in Ballybough. He was taken to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The two men, aged 53 and 46 were arrested at the scene yesterday and were held for questioning at Mountjoy Garda Station. It is understood that they were known to the man who died.

Gardaí said this evening that the men were released without charge and that a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
