Teenager remains in custody over Westport stabbing

Two other teenagers arrested in connection with the stabbing have been released.

ONE TEENAGER IS still being held in Garda custody in connection with a stabbing in Mayo on Saturday night.

A 17-year-old man was stabbed during an incident at Railway Walk in Westport and was brought to Mayo General Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Three men in their late teens were detained at Westport Garda station over the stabbing. One teenager was released on Sunday evening at around 6.30pm while another was released at 10.30pm last night. A file is being prepared for the DPP in both cases.

The third teenager is still being detained.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to contact them.
