Three men arrested after suspected stolen property found in lorry leaving Ireland

The suspects are being detained at Wexford Garda Station.

GARDAÍ ARRESTED THREE men and seized suspected stolen property during an operation at the Rosslare ferry port in Wexford last night.

Officers and Revenue officials detained the suspects at around 9.30pm after stopping a white Mercedes lorry as it was about to board a Cherbourg-bound ferry.

Items including bicycles, power tools, garden machinery and beer kegs were discovered during a search of the vehicle.

Gardaí say they believe the property – which is worth in the region of €70,000 – was stolen.

The occupants of the lorry, three Romanian nationals in their 20s and 30s, were arrested at the scene.

They are being detained at Wexford Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
