Men wielding swords demand cash at filling station

No one was injured in the robbery but a staff member was left badly shaken.

TWO MEN WIELDING swords robbed a filling station in Belfast last night.

Today police appealed for information about the armed robbery which took place at a petrol station in the Boucher Crescent area of the city at 9pm.

The two men, armed with swords, entered the premises and threatened a member of staff before leaving with a sum of cash from the till. The worker was not injured but police said they were left “badly shaken by the ordeal”.

The men are described as wearing hooded tops with scarves covering their faces. They are believed to have made off in a silver coloured Toyota car.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or who has information in relation to it to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101. Or if you would prefer to provide information without giving your details you can contact the independent Crimestoppers charity and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
