Buyer on a budget? These stylish two-beds start at €270k - and qualify for Help To Buy

A brand new phase of homes has just launched at Taylor Hill.

IF YOU’RE SAVING for your deposit, or are house-hunting on a tight budget, it can often feel like you’re miles away from your forever home.

But with prices starting at €270,000 for a two-bed townhouse at Taylor Hill in Balbriggan, that long-awaited set of keys might be closer than you think.

A brand new phase of homes at Taylor Hill was released last weekend, featuring two, three and four bed terraced and semi detached homes. This follows a sell-out first phase with over 130 homes at Taylor Hill already occupied.

As with all of the 18 homes in this new phase, the two-bed townhouses qualify for the Help To Buy scheme.

With a purchase price of €270k, this would mean that eligible buyers could claim an allowance of up to €13,500 – half of the €27,000 deposit that a mortgage provider will look for.

Price tag aside, discerning house-hunters with an eye for style will find lots to love at the two-bed townhouse at Taylor Hill.

Each unit has an open plan living room, downstairs WC and no end of storage. The kitchen area opens to the rear garden via French doors, perfect for entertaining during the warmer months, or gazing out at winter skies later in the year.

Glenveagh Homes offers buyers the inclusion of appliances, flooring and carpets provided a contract is signed within 21 days. Flooring and carpet will be laid down before you move in, so all you’ll have to do is put your own stamp on the place with your choice of furniture.

At Taylor Hill, you’ll be close to nature and to the Dublin coastline, but you’ll also be just a 40 minute commute from the city centre by car. You can be on the M1 in three minutes, or the M50 in 15. Regular bus and rail links run between Balbriggan and the centre of Dublin too.

For everyday amenities, Balbriggan is an established community all of its own, with schools, shops, bars, sports clubs and – of course – coastal walking routes nearby.

And what do residents say?

“It was a no-brainer for me to buy this house… It’s a starter home, but I’m now saving more each month than I ever did when living in Dublin city. I bought the two-bed house in early 2019 and rent out one of the rooms to a tenant. The rental income of €650 per month goes along way to my mortgage repayments. I rented a room myself for a number of years for €800 a month in Dublin City and it wasn’t my home – now my repayments are around €350 a month after the rental income I get.”
