Tayto

From now on, bags of Tayto will feature the flavour as Gaeilge

Mála brioscáin phrátaí faoi bhlas cáise agus oinniúin, más é do thoil é.

Tayto Gaeilge Tayto Tayto

THE NEXT TIME you’re enjoying a pack of Tayto, look closely at the bag, because it’s undergone a slight but significant change.

From now on, new bags of Tayto will feature the Irish translation of the flavour underneath the English one:

taytoirish Tayto Tayto

brioscáin Tayto Tayto

So the bags will say “Brioscáin Phrátaí Faoi Bhlas…

  • Cáise & Oinniúin (Cheese and Onion);
  • Salainn & Finéagair (Salt and Vinegar);
  • Bagúin Dheataithe (Smoky Bacon);
  • Nó Manglaim Cloicheán (Prawn Cocktail).”

Tayto previously released bags as Gaeilge to mark St Patrick’s Day last year:

taytogael Tayto Tayto

The same was done for Seachtain na Gaeilge in 2013, along with a bit of retro packaging.

blasta Tayto Tayto

Those were limited edition packs, but the latest Irish translation is a permanent feature. The crispmakers also said that they want it to add it to more of their range of crisps and snacks in the future.
