NO MATTER WHO you are, you’re never too old, too famous or too cool to always appreciate a classic ‘mam’ text.
Last summer, when we heard from the likes of David O’Doherty, Kevin McGahern and Foil Arms & Hog about the kind of messages they receive from their mams, it was clear that all Irish mams are pretty gas when they communicate by text.
In fact, there’s an entire book dedicated to what happens when small keypads meet older hands. And we’ve gathered more than a few mortifying but hilarious examples from Irish mammies over the years.
When Jimmy Kimmel asked his staff to read out their latest ‘mom texts’ (some of which were very questionable), it gathered over 4.5 million views.
So tell us, what was the last text that your mam sent you? You could win her a Mother’s Day Limited Edition Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, pictured below.
Simply email your name and location to competitions@thejournal.ie with ‘Dyson’ in the subject line. Full Journal Media terms and conditions are available here.
Doesn’t your mam deserve something a little extra this Mothers’ Day? Treat her to a special Mother’s Day Gift Edition of the Dyson Supersonic. With a powerful digital motor that’s designed for fast drying, it’ll give her even more time to spend with you (and maybe, send a few more gas texts). See it for yourself at a Dyson demonstration store in St Stephens Green Shopping Centre, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Whitewater Shopping Centre, Newbridge and Mahon Point Shopping Centre, Cork.
