Gardaí appeal for information after man killed in Temple Bar attack

Four men have been released without charge.

GARDAÍ HAVE RELEASED four men arrested in connection with the death of a man in his 20s in Dublin’s Temple Bar.

27-year-old father of three Gareth O’Connor was killed after being attacked in the Cow’s Lane area of Dublin at around 8.45pm on Thursday.

He passed away yesterday morning.

His football club, Arthur Griffith Park FC paid tribute to him on Facebook:

“Terrible news to hear of the passing of one of our players earlier today. RIP Gareth ‘Garzy’ O Connor. We will all miss you so much.”

Four men arrested as part of the investigation have been released without charge, gardaí say.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out later today by the State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, at Dublin City Morgue.

Gardaí are appealing for information on the killing, which it is believed was captured on camera by a number of people.

Anyone with information can contact them at Pearse Street Garda Station at 01 – 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
