LAST UPDATE | 19 Apr

GOOD MORNING.

Here’s all the news you need to know as you start your day

Investigation

These are among the various issues reported in recent years about the electric bus rollout, with fleets of buses stalled for many months, and longer in some cases.

Town of Softies?

3. The road signs will be updated to reflect the proper Irish name for Dublin’s newest town, Dublin City Council has confirmed.

Signposts for the Ballyboggan Road, located near Glasnevin, will be changed after plans to develop a new town in the area, announced this week, contradicted the Irish translations on the signs.

Ukraine peace talks

Attack on Houthi rebels

6. US strikes on a Yemeni fuel port killed at least 80 people, Huuthi rebels say, in the deadliest attack of Washington’s 15-month campaign against the Iran-backed group.

National Therapy Service

7. Minister for Education Helen McEntee has confirmed that she will introduce a National Therapy Service in education, beginning in special schools later in the next academic year.

Grace Case

8. Another whistleblower in the Grace case has criticised the long-awaited report published this week for its “inaccessible” language, saying that she has found her asking herself “what was it all for”, 16 years after she first made a protected disclosure about Grace’s care.

Road death

9. The family of Ronan Wilson have formally asked the Director of Public Prosecutions to appeal the sentence that was handed down to the driver who struck and killed the nine-year-old.
