• The BAI inquiry into the RTÉ and Fr Kevin Reynolds case is complete, but the Authority won’t make any comment or publish the findings as yet. It is going to RTÉ for consideration first.
• Seán Sherlock TD has said that he would not attend a discussion on copyright law at Dublin’s Science Gallery if he had to share the stage with the organiser of StopSOPAIreland. Simon McGarr, who founded the StopSOPAIreland petition, said he had been told that unless he was uninvited from the event, Sherlock would cancel his appearance.
• Gardaí have said today that tighter restrictions are needed on sex offenders. They made the comments at the annual conference of the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors. Proposals include that people on the sex offenders’ register would have to supply personal information and photographs of themselves.
• The Archdiocese of Armagh has launched a formal investigation into how a parish priest inadvertently showed pornographic images to a group of parents at a primary school last week. The priest said the images could be “legitimately explained”.
• The bird flu detected in pheasants in Clonakilty poses no risk to public health, the Government has said. The results of tests on birds in Barryroe are yet to be released.
• Osama Bin Laden’s wives and daughters were sentenced to 45 days in prison for illegally entering and living in Pakistan. They have been in detention since last May, when US commandos killed the al-Qaeda chief in Abottabad.
• Game stores in the UK have been bought by Baker Acquisitions, meaning 333 jobs have been saved there. However, Irish staff are still staging sit-ins around the country in an attempt to be paid their redundancy pay by the firm.
• Sadly, the good weather won’t last – Met Éireann warns of a cold week ahead, with temperatures to dip to -3C in some areas.

• New rules for sex offenders aren’t an option – they’re a no-brainer, campaigner and abuse survivor Andrew Madden writes in a column for TheJournal.ie today.
• Funding has been secured to end the detention of children in St Patrick’s Institution, which is an adult prison. Children’s minister Frances Fitzgerald said that €50 million of funding will ensure 16 and 17-year-old offenders will no longer be held in the prison.
• The long-persecuted Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has claimed victory in the Burma by-election, meaning she could be set to take office in the isolated country for the first time.
• World Autism Awareness Day has been celebrated around Ireland today – and one Irish artistic artist got to meet President Michael D Higgins. Colm Isherwood’s father Eric told us about how the meeting went.
• Permanent TSB reports losses of €424 million, and warned of a “significant deterioration” in the number of borrowers in arrears.
• AIB is winding down its international operations – and is to sell its Polish property fund management company.
