GARDAÍ IN MONAGHAN have begun an investigation after the theft of an ATM machine overnight in Castleblayney.
At approximately 3am this morning a digger was used to remove the ATM from the wall of a bank on Main Street.
The thieves then loaded the ATM on to a trailer which was being towed by a dark coloured jeep.
Gardaí believe that the jeep left in the direction of Oram Road.

Gardaí have asked anyone with information in relation to the incident to contact them at Castleblayney Garda Station on 0429747900.
Last night’s robbery follows a number of similar ATM thefts recently.
On Monday, detectives in Co Antrim launched an investigation into the theft of an ATM from a shop in Ahoghill. The seventh ATM robbery using a digger in Northern Ireland this year.

Local Fianna Fáil TD Niamh Smyth has called on the Garda Commissioner and Minister for Justice to allocate extra resources to Cavan-Monaghan as these criminal actions are “causing terror in our constituency”.
“Our small towns and villages, such as Kingscourt and Ballybay, are paralysed by these criminals and more resources are needed. We need extra garda presence in the area to stop these criminals but also provide peace of mind to residents,” Smyth said.

I’m just glad I am not the Irish politician who made up that new term, wasting everyone’s time in parliament, embarrassing himself to no end, in a week that will go down in history like no other… Amazyballs politics, an embarrassment to the emerald ire.
I just clicked on the old link about “amazeyballs” and did anyone else notice that the dail was all but empty?? If we all decided to just not show up for work when we didnt want to im sure we’d find ourselves unemployed however TD’s seem to be able to skip debates and votes whenever they see fit. Im not having a go at government here but maybe someone could explain how they get away with such absenteeism
