Three arrested over fatal shooting of Inchicore teenager

Three males, in their late teens, are arrested in connection with yesterday’s shooting of a 19-year-old at Myra Close.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING the shooting dead of a 19-year-old man in Inchicore yesterday afternoon have this evening arrested three people in connection with the incident.

Paul ‘Paulie’ McCarthy was shot in the head at around 2:50pm at Myra Close yesterday afternoon, dying from his injuries at St James’s Hospital a few hours later.

This evening three men – all in their teens – were arrested in connection with the incident, and remain detained at Garda stations at Kevin Street, Harcourt Terrace and Pearse Street on Dublin’s southside.

Gardaí had earlier recovered the firearm which they suspected had been used in the attack.
