Three held over Dundalk murder released

Teenager Niall Dorr died in hospital after being assaulted on Wednesday night.

GARDAÍ HAVE RELEASED the three men being held over the the murder of Niall Dorr, 18, from Dundalk.

Dorr died in hospital on Thursday after sustaining serious head injuries in an assault on Wednesday evening.

Several young people are believed to have been involved in the row in which Dorr was injured.

Three men aged 21, 23 and 30 were arrested at the end of last week, and were questioned in Dundalk and Drogheda Garda Stations. The Irish Times reports that two of the men were released without charge yesterday and the third man was released overnight.

A file is being prepared for the DPP.

Gardaí are still appealing to anyone who may have information regarding the incident on Wednesday night to come forward and contact them.
