Trains in the UK were delayed due to 'strong sunshine' this morning
It’s actually a pretty serious problem according to the rail company.
WE’RE USED TO the weather having an impact on transport in this country.
A good night of rain can make a morning commute a nightmare and let’s not even get into what happens if there’s ice or (God forbid) snow.
So it might raise an eyebrow or two to hear that Southeastern Railway in England told customers this morning that train delays were because of the sunshine.
No, we’re not kidding.

Commuters had a bit of fun with it on Twitter – some even thought it was a parody account – but the rail company said it’s actually a serious problem.
It went on to say that “somebody could be hurt” if the drivers cannot see the CCTV monitors they use to check if it’s safe to close the doors.
Still, we’d kind of love to see Irish Rail blaming too much sunshine for delays sometime soon.
