Trump Tower evacuated over suspicious package that turned out to be bag of toys
A video from the tower showed people being rushed out of the building.
TRUMP TOWER WAS evacuated today over a suspicious package.
Video from the scene, posted on social media, showed people being rushed out of the building.
However Associated Press reports that police say the suspicious package was in fact a bag containing children’s toys.
J Peter Donald, assistant commissioner for communication and public information at the NYPD, said that the NYPD bomb squad had responded to the suspicious package report “out of an abundance of caution“.
Donald Trump was not in the tower at the time.
