Twitter seeks to more than double Irish workforce

The microblogging site has announced 12 new roles, mostly in sales, for its international office in Dublin.

TWITTER HAS ANNNOUNCED 12 new jobs for Ireland as it seeks to more  than double the size of its workforce at the international office it set up in Dublin last year.

The announcement sees 12 new jobs posted to its website this morning in areas such as sales and IT. Twitter currently employs under ten people in its Ireland base but plans to increase this in the coming months.

The microblogging site announced the establishment of an international office in Dublin last September following the likes of Google and Facebook who both have Dublin operations that they expanded in recent years.

No details were given as to how many jobs would be created at the time.

A spokesperson for Twitter said that the new jobs in Dublin, which can also be found on TheJournal.ie‘s JobSearch page, are part of the expansion of the company’s sales efforts in Europe.
