AS THE PROLONGED bail application hearing for Oscar Pistorius continues in South Africa, his uncle has provided insights into how the athlete is spending his days.
Arnold Pistorius said that the 26-year-old athlete is spending time with his brother Carl and sister Aimee. He is also reading the Bible he asked authorities to provide after his arrest.
Pistorius said the family has been in contact with Reeva Steenkamp’s family to express their condolences. But he added that they were respecting their privacy and grief.
On his nephew, Arnold described him as a man who may look tough but is a ‘peacemaker’.
He also called him a “survivor”.
“The world will see a different Oscar. That’s for sure. Nobody can be the same ever ever again if such a tragedy comes over your life. But he will bounce back and be greater than ever.”
