Rosie O'Donnell, Garron Noone and Ryan Tubridy among Virgin Media's new season offerings

A new season of Gogglebox Ireland is among the highlights, featuring a range of well-known Irish celebrities.

VIRGIN MEDIA HAS announced the schedule for its upcoming season of television – expect Rosie O’Donnell and Michael Healy-Rae on Gogglebox, Ryan Tubridy in the hot seat, and even an appearance from Caitlyn Jenner.

The ever-popular Gogglebox Ireland starts back next Wednesday (10 September), with a range of well-known Irish faces among the mix of armchair critics.

The season kicks off with a celebrity special featuring Rosie O’Donnell, Michael Healy Rae, Garron Noone, Pat Shortt, Louis Walsh, and some of RTÉ’s biggest stars - the Den’s Ray D’Arcy, Dustin the Turkey, and Zig and Zag.

A new show, The Assembly, will launch in the spring. Each episode pairs a celebrity guest with a panel of neurodivergent interviewers, offering a fresh and unfiltered take on the celebrity interview format.

The series opens with former RTÉ presenter Ryan Tubridy, with Joanne McNally also set to appear.

The Baz Ashmawy-produced comedy-drama Faithless returns for a second season, starring Jamie-Lee O’Donnell (of Derry Girls fame).

Lucy Kennedy’s reality show Living with Lucy returns for another season, kicking off with an episode featuring Caitlyn Jenner.

Also on the schedule is The Tonight Show, returning on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 10pm, with Kieran Cuddihy continuing as host.

Virgin Media will also feature a range of documentaries, including Gaslit: The Fight for Women’s Health, fronted by Katja Mia, which looks at medical gaslighting and systemic failings in the Irish healthcare system.

The Trial of Richard Satchwell will trace the story of the disappearance and murder of Tina Satchwell, and the subsequent conviction of her husband.

Among the new Irish documentaries is A Rebel Education, a four-part series filmed inside a Cork secondary school. It follows students, teachers and Principal Burke across an academic year, capturing both the challenges and humour of school life.

In Toxic Threads, Brian Dowling investigates the impact of online abuse and trolling, meeting those whose lives have been scarred by anonymous hate and exploring what can be done to hold perpetrators accountable.

On the international drama slate, Cold Water stars Andrew Lincoln as a stay-at-home father whose move to the countryside takes a dark turn when he discovers unsettling secrets about his new neighbour.

Elsewhere, Danny Dyer fronts The War on Men, exploring masculinity and the pressures facing young men in the 21st century.

Sport remains a major part of the schedule, with live coverage of the UEFA Champions League, League of Ireland fixtures, and the Six Nations.
